Covington Dispatch

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 30, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Wizard of Covington LLC ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Covington Dispatch service available at covingtondispatch.app (the "Service").

1. Who this policy applies to

The Service is used by independent businesses (such as plumbers, electricians, HVAC technicians, and handymen) to manage jobs and send invoices to their customers. Two groups have information processed by the Service:

  • Subscribers — the businesses that sign up for an account at covingtondispatch.app.
  • End-Customers — individuals who hire a Subscriber to perform a service. End-Customers do not create accounts. The Subscriber enters the End-Customer's name, phone number, and service address into the Service in order to send the End-Customer an invoice.

2. Information we collect

From Subscribers

  • Account information: name, email, password (hashed), business name, phone, business address, county.
  • Optional uploads: business logo, job-site photos.
  • Payment details: handled by our payment processors (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
  • Usage data: IP addresses, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps for security and product improvement.

From End-Customers (entered by Subscribers)

  • Name, mobile phone number, optional email, service address, and Subscriber-entered notes about the job.

3. How we use information

  • To operate the Service: create accounts, manage jobs, generate invoices, host the public invoice page that End-Customers open, and process Subscriber payments via Stripe.
  • To store the End-Customer's name and phone number so the Subscriber can text the invoice link to the End-Customer from the Subscriber's own phone using the device's native messaging app — see Section 5.
  • To communicate with Subscribers about their account, billing, and product updates.
  • To detect and prevent fraud and abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.

4. How we share information

We share information only with service providers we use to operate the Service, and only as necessary to provide it to you:

  • Supabase — database, authentication, file storage.
  • Stripe — payment processing for Subscriber subscriptions and End-Customer invoice payments.
  • DigitalOcean — hosting.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. SMS communications and mobile information

Covington Dispatch does not transmit SMS messages. We store the End-Customer's name and phone number so the Subscriber can open their device's native messaging app pre-filled with the invoice link, then send the text from the Subscriber's own phone number through the Subscriber's own carrier. The platform never sends, routes, or stores the message content itself.

Mobile information (including phone numbers) will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not contract with any SMS aggregator or messaging provider, so mobile information is not transmitted to any such third party.

Message and data rates may apply. Because the Subscriber sends the text from their own phone, standard message and data rates from the Subscriber's wireless carrier — and from the End-Customer's carrier on receipt — apply.

Opt-out: Because the messages come from the Subscriber's personal number, opt-out is handled directly between the End-Customer and the Subscriber. There is no platform STOP keyword; the End-Customer asks the Subscriber to stop and the Subscriber honors the request. Subscribers agree to honor opt-out requests as a condition of using the Service — see Terms of Service.

Opt-in mechanism: End-Customer consent to receive the invoice text is collected by the Subscriber at the time the End-Customer engages the Subscriber for service. See /sms-policy for further detail.

6. Data retention

We retain Subscriber data for the lifetime of the account. After account closure, we retain data for up to 90 days to support re-activation, then delete or anonymize it. End-Customer records (name, phone, job history) are retained while the Subscriber's account is active and deleted alongside the Subscriber's data on closure. Subscribers may request earlier deletion of specific End-Customer records by contacting us.

7. Security

We use industry-standard practices including TLS encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest, row-level security in our database to enforce per-business data isolation, and limited access controls for our team. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your rights

Subscribers may access, correct, export, or delete their account data from within the Service or by contacting us. End-Customers should contact the Subscriber who entered their information for access or correction requests, and may contact us directly to opt out of all future SMS or to request deletion of their record.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

10. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify Subscribers by email.
